Hi Seniors,

Let's use this blog as a place to process the outcome of the Presidential election. Here are some rules of the road:

1. On this blog you are making your thoughts public to your classmates. Remember to use language and a tone that is appropriate, respectful, thoughtful, and that you wouldn't mind anyone else reading.

2. You can comment on other peoples posts! Ask questions or tell them what they wrote is awesome. It's a great feeling to know that when you put your thoughts out there people are responding positively. Show each other some love!

3. This is not a place for criticism of someone else's position. If you have a question - ask it - but do not assume you are the moral authority on someone else's position. We want everyone to feel comfortable sharing.

4. Proofread! Be sure that your words make sense before you click publish!

I randomly started crying while eating my pancake this morning because I just got so scared for some of my family and friends :( I was so hopeful that other states would choose to be democratic and I'm so confused about how Trump's unclear policies can appeal to anyone like ???? wyd America????

Apparently, not everyone seems quite about Trump winning the presidential election. The Chinese media has portrayed the joy of Chinese citizens and its politicians for Trump 's victory. This may be due to the adversity against Hilary Clinton and the image she has portrayed to the Chinese during her years in politics. During 1995, the Unites Nation Fourth World Conference Hilary Clinton criticized China's family-planning policies. Also, during her time as Secretary of State, Hillary shifted America's focus on power in Asia. It also seemed that under Donald Trump, the United states relations with Asia will improve. Trump reassured that the U.S. would defend South Korea from North Korea aggression. In addition, he agreed to meet with Japan's prime minister.

I'm just baffled. Like I don't know if it makes me naive that I just didn't expect this at all. I honestly thought he had no chance. I think it's because of where I'm from. In the city, we're mostly surrounded by liberals so we're somewhat unaware of what most of the country is really like.
There's just so much wrong with the fact he won. With everythinggggggg we know about him. Everything he's done. All the shit he stands for. All the shit his supporters stand for.
My head hurts.

Honestly, the outcome of this election was so upsetting and utterly shocking. This showed that it only takes one ignorant and racist leader to come out and speak out for other Americans to show their true colors (silent majority). This will also change my entire view on leaving NYC for college.

I am full of disgust and anger. I am afraid not for him being in office but how people are going to feel like they can act any type of way now. I am not hopeful for this country because it just shows how ignorant people are and believe that it is okay to discriminate and feel superior because of sling color. I am not prepared for the next 4 years of my life and I am scared for my friends and family.

I had woken up to a Trump presidency and literally broke down in tears. The first thing I heard my sister say was "wow what does this mean if I want to get married?" (she's part of the LGBT community). I am scared, disgusted and disappointed that so many people in this country supported his racist and sexist views. I am heartbroken. I am terrified for my family, my friends and my future. But after the initial shock of his election, I think all there is to do now is to work harder to ensure the safety and the rights of immigrants, people of color, LGBT and any other people that were threatened by Donald Trump and his supporters' views.

I'm in awe at everything that has occurred in this election process. However, I feel like in order to make a real change we have to come together as a unit. We should focus our energy on something progressive and positive. Yes Trump may be president but that doesn't mean we sit back and let his plans, whatever they may be, roll out. Unison and proactivity that's how we will move forward!

In this article, it talks about the reactions of the population of Trinidad based on the Presidential Election of 2016. Even though they don't participate in the election they were very concerned about the results just like any other American. They were mainly Hillary supporters, just like many residents of the US. The people of Trinidad and Tobago find many similarities in their election for prime minister last year and the U.S. election this year. Dr. Keith Rowley of the People's Partnership won the election and he is very similar to Trump in that he only cares for his own interest and ever since he has came into power he has not helped the people at all. Most people in Trinidad believe that the Senate can control Trump if he gets out of hand since he does not hold complete power, but other are worried about who he might place in his cabinet, which mirrors the fears of many Americans. They view America as a world superpower just like many countries around the world. Since Trinidad and Tobago are just a mere dot on the map they believe that America's politics will not affect them drastically except if it concerns the petroleum industry because Trinidad and Tobago is the largest oil and natural gas producer in the Caribbean. Another topic that worries them is Trumps ban on Muslims. Trinidad and Tobago also have the largest Muslim population in the Caribbean, which is around 78,000 or 6%. Many Islamic organizations are worried that Trump will make it harder for Trinidadians to travel to the U.S, but still many have faith that the Senate will control him and not issue a ban. Finally, the U.S. Ambassador appointed by Barack Obama is handing in his resignation because when a new president is elected they appoint a new Ambassador for Trinidad, so many are hoping that Trump agrees to keep the same Ambassador. Overall, the citizens of Trinidad are concerned just as much as the U.S. population as to what this new president means for America and the world.

Dear Mr.Trump,
America is a great place and at the same time it can always be better. Some of the ways to do this is by one understanding that America is a diverse place, it is the land of the free and the land of opportunity. People come here for a better life and where they can have a future and not be scared for their lives. We have freedom of religion and therefore we as a country need to understand that there is more then one religion and even if we don't agree with it we should respect the people that do and their cultural. Racism and Islamophobia are at a high for this day and age, sexism is still going strong and all of this unacceptable. People, especially those protecting and running our country, should not be racist or biased based on ethnicity, gender, sexual preference or religion. We go to them for help and to keep us safe, nobody should fear them because of who they are as a person.Law enforcement should have to go through a training's and workshops to ensure they can enforce the law fairly, and if a law enforcement shows signs of being biased they it should be addressed. The next things that needs to be looked as is women's rights, both for her body and in the work place. Women's rights are human rights and they should have control over there body. In the work place women should be payed the same amount as the male counterpart that does the same job. There shouldn't be a 20% wage gap. Payed family leave is important, parents need time to bond with their newborn child and the mothers need time to fully heal. If they don't have this it could force them to have to go back to work before they are at full health or worse not do that and have to struggle. This is important for both married women and single mothers. Planned parenthood is a great way to prevent early pregnancy and to spread sexual education so people can make smarted choices. To make America great you have to accept all the people, this includes the LGBT+ community. They only want to live their life and be happy, they deserve to have that. They are valid and they deserve to be treated with respect. They deserve to have the same rights that a heterosexual couple has, and shouldn't fear that their rights will be taken away.
Sincerely,
A hopeful child, Ana Aponte

The Trump campaign’s motto has always confused me. I understand the part about making America great; every campaign in electoral history has effectually promised to make America great. But why “again”? Our nation has changed dramatically over the past two centuries. Our laws, our values, and even the sheer structure of our political system does not at all resemble the original United States. And, for the most part, these changes have been for the better. In almost every sense — social equality, standard of living, GDP per capita — America is closer to greatness than it has been for the entirety of its existence. Either America is already great, or it never was.
There is, however, one major area in which America is currently less great than it used to be. Social mobility has declined. Fifty years ago, the American Dream was reasonably achievable (albeit, only for white men); there were enough decent jobs for a majority of Americans to live with reasonable financial stability, and, there was enough mobility that those without wealthy backgrounds to be successful. Now, things are different. There is no job surplus and, while average income has increased, the lower income brackets earn far less than they did fifty years ago. Moreover, for a job that pays decently, Americans often need higher education, which only the middle and upper classes can afford. While the wealthy continue to thrive, working-class and poor Americans have no easy escape from their financial situation.
The main difference is the availability of jobs. At the apex of social mobility in the United States, there was an enormous job surplus, with the government sponsoring public-sector employment programs and working with the private sector to protect workers. This is no longer the case. For the past few decades, the federal government has withdrawn from the economy, reluctant to spend our tax money to meddle with the economy. This is clearly not an effective method: the decline of social mobility coincided with the elimination of many publicly-sponsored jobs. Libertarian capitalism is preventing America from being as great as it could be. It would be unrealistic to entirely revert to the keynesian system we once had; the economy has changed — there are more factors to consider, and the success of the private sector is more central than ever to our success as a nation. But the government cannot simply continue to allow businesses to unilaterally control the average American’s standard of living. To make America great again, the Trump administration needs to work toward directly creating public sector jobs and protecting the availability and quality of jobs created by the private sector.

In this video the president of Guyana talks about the effect Donald Trumps election will have on the country. President Granger agrees with our president elect that illegal immigrants should be removed from the country. However, he voiced his concern that there should be some sort of distinction between criminals and other illegal immigrants. He is concerned about this because at the moment Guyana does not have the resources to make sure these criminals are put either back in jail or somewhere where they won't cause problems. Guyana's crime rate is extremely high and bringing more criminals into the country won't help the situation. The president along with the citizens of Guyana are worried about the fate of America and what it will mean for them and their families in America and home.

I would truly recommend for you to read this article from the Economic Times of India (it is in English). It discusses the impact of students like us. The difference is that these students are international students. More specifically, Indian students. One student said, that sort of shocked me, was, "why should I spend $150,000 plus in the US for studies if I won't get US post-graduation job." Isn't it true, though? US politics are heavily impacting education, in this case, international studies. Visas like H1B Visa (where Indian employees come to the USA to work in American companies), such opportunities will be eradicated under Trump's rule. The point I will like to establish is Trump's victory results more than impacting Americans, but citizens of other nations.

Dear Mr. Trump,
I have a few concerns about your future presidency, and I know a lot of people have their concerns as well. My parents came to the country with their families almost three decades back in hopes for a better life, and that is especially true for a lot of individuals that choose to come to America. Throughout the world America is seen as a country where you are entitled to basic rights like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, being able to vote for who you think has your best interests in mind; and the first step in truly making "America Great Again" is to understand what the people really need.
As a young woman, I feel very strongly about the rights that revolve around my body. I agree with your position on Planned Parenthood when you say that it does amazing work on women's health, but totally disagree with you on abortion. You need to continue to fund Planned Parenthood because it does provide resources towards sexual and reproductive health, but taking away a woman's choice to have an abortion is wrong. There are so many feelings and decisions that go into deciding whether or not an abortion is the right choice: whether it be for the health of the woman, if the woman isn't financially able to support a child, if the woman was raped, or even if the woman simply does not want to have a child, it is no one's right to take that away from her. Not only that, but there is a wage gap between men and women, and it is even larger for minority workers. Hispanic women were paid 54% less than their counterparts in 2014, and numbers like these for any woman is unacceptable.

Throughout your campaign, and even after you were pronounced as president-elect, many of your supporters have taken up a harmful rhetoric against minorities, and even though you may not condone these acts, you must take action and make your supporters understand that these attacks simply cannot happen. Racism will not get us anywhere, and a serious change needs to be made. In order to make our country work together, you need to be the one to educate the people that look up to you and are expecting you to guide them. As a young Muslim, I am afraid when my father, my brother, and even my significant other go to mosques for prayer because of the hatred there is for people that follow the religion of Islam. Islam is a peaceful religion, and the extremists you vow to defeat are not Muslim. They believe they are doing exactly what Islam tells them to do, but they are doing the very things that Islam says not to do.

We claim to be a very progressive country, but that cannot and will not be true unless you help unify everyone and fight for the rights of minorities. We make up such a large part of the country and we deserve to be heard.

Sincerely,
Rasha Kadir

In this video, the people of the Philippines discuss the aftermath of the U.S. Presidential Election and its immediate and possible effects to their country and Asia as a whole. The United States being a global super power, it plays a big role on both the global economy and foreign relations. It's mentioned how the Asian economy has already fluctuated. It even talked about how the Philippine Currency--the Peso--has already been at its lowest point in 7 years. Furthermore, it is evident that countries even on the opposite side of the world are deeply affected and concerned about Trump's leadership and plans for the country. While majority of the Philippines are just as disheartened as most of the American people, representatives in the video shared their thoughts about the probable relations of President-Elect Trump and President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines. They talked about how they might get along since they share some views in politics. Nonetheless, this video shared that the Filipino people will remain just as positive and hopeful as the citizens of America.

An organization I feel represents a cause that is very significant to me is NOW-NYC (National Organization for Women). This organization advocates for the women and girls of New York. They work to promote reproductive rights, secure women's economic empowerment, and end abuse on women. This cause is important fro me, not only because I am a women, but because all individuals deserve equal rights despite gender, age, race, religion, etc.

The President Elect and his Vice President have made it very clear that they do not support abortions. I believe that if Trump would defund abortions, it would be a violation of women rights. Not all women have abortions because they don't want a child, in fact many abortions in the case of rape, incest, mother's life is danger, or even that the mother would not be able to support the baby financially after its birth.

This organization also advocates against violence and discrimination against women. This speaks volumes to me because women have been discriminated against for a very long time in history, whether it be not being able to vote or the issue of wage gaps. It was also very shocking for me when Trump was able to easily get away with his "grab they by the pussy" comment. Our president is suppose to help support this organization but instead mocks it and continues to be supported despite his misogynistic comments. I believe that women have worked very hard to achieve where they are today and they will not give it all up easily, they will protest to secure their rights. I want to get involved by donating to this organization and even attending some of their organized protest/events.

In this article, it speaks about the massive rising of racism throughout America after the election of Trump. In the University of New Mexico there was a Muslim student who was studying at the moment when a white student wearing a Trump shirt tried to forcibly take off her hijab. In a high school in Illinois, there was a protest and in front of the bathroom doors it read "only for whites." In a university in PA, they put up a Donald Trump sign while yelling "white supremacy." In many states, people have said, "Lets lynch them daily...Dumb slave...go back to Africa...black lives don't matter and neither does their vote" and lastly, "put up the wall."
This newspaper company is very popular in Ecuador, Guayaquil, and it is telling the people the real deal of what is going on in America and does not sugar coat it.

There has been many other incidents and racist protest throughout America. Unfortunately, as said in the article, some universities has done nothing to help students, so one of the student took action and went to reported to the Office of Equal Opportunity University to have a chance to stand up for himself.

Dear Mr Trump,

Let me begin by congratulating you for your election. I must admit that I am not thrilled by your election. Despite this, America is where I call home and I want to make sure that the nation’s best interests are put ahead in the next four years. Because of this, I have some recommendations and suggestions that I feel would really help to “Make America Great Again.”

First, let me advise that you not only elect members to your regulatory board that you believe in, but instead, what the vast majority of people believe and trust. Don’t just do away with those who you don’t necessarily believe in. If this is the case, how can we hope to continue in the current positive direction. With this, I am referring to your EPA advisor elect and all of your other conservative, religious board members. Though their positions may coincide with your own, this does not necessarily make them fit to advise and govern the nation.

Secondly, the US is not a religious state and in turn, elected officials should not push their religious affiliations on the nation. I am an agnostic Jew and feel that pushing a Christian or any pro God agenda on the nation will do nothing but divide the country. There is no place for religion within state affairs. This leads nicely to the issue of planned parenthood, which, though may challenge your set beliefs, is a human right that has been held to be a constitutional right. The government has no place in reproductive rights and this should be upheld no matter the beliefs of the elected officials.

Lastly, you were not elected with a landslide. Over half of the country hates you, and because of this, it is important that you try to compromise on some of your closely held beliefs and policies. You are for the people, not half of them. Everyone’s voice should be considered, not just those who agree with you and you them.

Please consider these and remember that you have the opportunity to take actions for the good of all Americans. Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck,

Sincerely

Oz Oren

This article from Poland, like most articles, talked about all the benefits that Trump will provide for the polish people living in the USA and polish people in Europe. The biggest benefit that Trump "promised" was not polish people not have to apply for a VISA in order to come to the USA. Which as far fetched as it sounds, this one promise persuaded most of the polish population around the world to stand on Trumps side. Although I completely disagree with his stance and reasoning for providing free-visa for allied countries with the USA. This itself provided many voters to vote for him. In general the election was spoken in the american voice as how americans were reacting to the election, not as much saying for how the polish people responded but judging by theft that Trump "loves" polish people they were probably happy about the outcome. Although that wasn't state din any article as a whole the polish community stayed neutral in talking about the election.

Dear Donald J. Trump, I am a high school senior in New York City and I was angry when you became president. This is not because of what you said, it's because of what you prompted in the wake of your campaign trail. I will start with the fact that the news flooded with racially charged hate crimes every other week after the first "Make America Great Again" speech and the voice of real hate came rushing out. The Ku Klux Klan practically idolizes you and racist Americans hold on to your promises of walls and deportation as if these things will truly happen. I want you to take a step back and look at what you've awakened; you've given bullies a voice. This may or may not have been your intention, but at this stage that doesn't matter. My friend was honked at and harrassed on her way home from school the FIRST day of your presidency. I'm afraid of what bullies like the ones in the car will do within this first year. And you prompted this. I don't think you're racist, I think you're a businessman in all forms of the word. You knew who you could appeal to and you stuck with that crowd, but now look at yourself. You've made it into a position of power and you probably have now realized that you can't make good on these promises that you always suggested in your speeches. The only way you can make America great again is by acting serious now; pay attention to the real problems at hand and have believable goals in national security. As of right now, everyone knows you have no real plan for the future of America, and the pressure is on. But this is also your chance to speak up, be a good president, and stifle all of these bigots who blindly follow your campaign promises. Address the uproar in racism and fight for those who are actually affected by this issue, please. I implore you to set a good example for those in positions of power, so that equal treatment isn't just a dream. This country isn't doomed yet because you still have time to change things around. But if you won't listen to my letter and the millions of others that are no doubt flowing in, and you do build a wall, and you follow through with all of your close-minded promises, then you deserve all the hate that you will recieve. You are in a precarious position, and you must find the balance in making everyone in this nation comfortable and setting the right example for all of us. I seriously hope you don't ruin this nation. I'm scared for what this nation could become if you let bullies and bigots run rampant. Goodluck.

Dear Donald Trump,
I was really sad when you became president. After Election Day, I imagined America in ruins and rich white people becoming more powerful. You and your election have greatly divided the nation instead of unifying it. I feel that you can 'Make America Great Again" by not banning Muslims since I have family members coming here as immigrants from Bangladesh. In the news, I hear about Muslims getting shot in or outside of Mosques as they are walking home, which honestly worries me. You have the wrong idea of what a Muslim really is and think that only extremists represent Islam. I think you should also listen to the needs of people living here in America, not just what you want America to be. I am trying to be hopeful of your election, but so far, it's not working out after hearing about your plans. Good luck making America great again.

Sincerely,
Reshad Ahmed

I chose "Earth 911" as my organization to support because it helps each specific community across the country learn how to recycle within their specific areas. I plan to devote time to the "Earth 911" organization by continuing to recycle all my waste as much as possible and continuing to encourage all family and friends to do so as well.

The news coverage in this video was made on November 9th, the day after the election. The coverage provides a very unbiased view on the 2016 Election. They begin their coverage with statistics of by what margin Donald Trump won the electoral college and what states played a crucial role in his election. Due to them creating this report very early after the election ended, their electoral college count was less than the official count.

With a constant shift of focus between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the news coverage provides information about where the candidates voted, what areas had early voting, and how and when voters voted. All of this information is combined with a few interviews from voters from both sides. Also, they provide two clips of Clinton and Trump speaking on how they were feeling about the election before the results.

The coverage changes tone when it mentions a shooting incident at a California poll location, in which a voter brought a gun to the location and shot four people, injuring three and killing one. This segment is the only moment during which they express emotions. The main coverage ends with this piece of information and continues with smaller segments consisting of interviews and analyses of the results.

Option 1:
During Trump’s campaign, there was a video released in which he degraded and objectified women to others. He defended himself by saying it was “locker room talk” but it shows the lack of respect he has for women. Since he won the election, I feel that now more than ever it is important to promote strength and equality among everyone but for this assignment, I chose to narrow in on women. There are young girls trying to find themselves and it is hard to form strength and confidence in this world. Girls Incorporated is a nonprofit organization that guides girls in the right direction by providing a strong foundation and unites girls to build each other up.

I chose this organization because it is important for young girls to have a safe-haven in a place where women are not always treated as equal human beings. This organization can educate these girls to build a better future for themselves and for men as well. The people working at Girls Incorporated can prove to females that they have a voice and can be heard. It can empower them to strive for greater things and to advocate for themselves. I plan to get involved by donating, spreading the word about this program, and maybe even volunteering time at their NYC location.

Basically, the title of this article states “Donald Trump-The man who took advantage of American anger.” and talks about why Donald Trump won the election. The article focuses on how Donald Trump was able to attract white working class and how he reached out to those who felt like they were forgotten and were being lied too. Donald Trump capitalized on calling out politicians on saying “a lot”, but “doing nothing”. His promise to take action and bring about change brought in a handful of supporters. The article points out how white American working class were just tired and wanted something new. The article also goes on to analyze the three debates. It states how Trump lied a tremendous amount, but yet still rallies of mainly white people surrounded him and forgave him for his misdeeds. The article ends by stating “despite the tens of years in government life, Clinton could not stand against Trump and all the anger he was able to take advantage of”. Essentially, in the end American anger was powerful enough to overpower Clinton and make Trump win the American election of 2016. In the second mini article it focuses on the fact that Trump is the candidate with the "poorest dictionary" in the sense that he barely 7% of his speech includes words with more than 3 syllables. He uses "good", "bad", and "great" most of the time and he often uses the word "stupid. It is even said that a ten year old could perfectly understand him.

Mr. Trump,

Your campaign, and eventually your victory, were dependent on two things: fear and hate. And while millions of people in this country feel just that as a result of your victory, I feel it is important for me to say this: I do not hate you. I am not afraid of you.

I do feel, nonetheless, that the United States is a broken nation in which those with squandered voices are often failed to be heard. These voices are overwhelmingly the voices of the poorest and the least demographically represented -- those who this country has been taught to "other" and be afraid of for the past 240 years, something that you have tapped into. While you may disagree, your words do not, and that is what the American people hear. There are literally white-supremacist-backed people in the White House, including yourself, and hate crimes are rising due to the things that you condone. Racism, misogyny, xenophobia, hate, and violence all seem to be okay, because a man who could not immediately disavow David Duke and has called for a ban on all Muslims is literally the most powerful man in the world.

With this being said, we hope that you will respond to the issues that affect the majority of the American population, not ones that will overwhelmingly benefit those in your social circle.

We hope that you will not deport millions of hard-working undocumented immigrants, but rather give us an opportunity to be a part of a country that we, too, are a part of.

We hope that you will not ban all Muslims from entering the United States, rather change your rhetoric to one of acceptance and tolerance, understanding that the most extreme forms of a religion do not represent the religion.

We hope that you will fight for women's rights like a man who claims that no one respects women more than you do, because a self-proclaimed sexual predator being the president scares millions of people in this country.

We hope that you will fight for the LGBT community, because your Vice-President-elect Mike Pence has openly said that the country should invest money on conversion therapy for gay people, and love is love.

We hope you will leave your racially discriminatory behavior against all minorities, especially African-Americans, in the past, and that you will see every human as equal.

We hope you will accept that climate change is an issue that the overwhelming majority of scientists agree is human-made, not a hoax, and that you will do your part to continue the US's role in the Paris Climate Accords.

We hope you will stand for the rights of Native Americans, who have inhabited this land long before anyone else in this country has -- if this country belongs to anyone, it is them.

We hope that you explicitly disavow hate and change the dangerous rhetoric that has launched you into the presidency, especially in a setting that now gives white-supremacists a platform to thrive.

Too many humans living in this country are more afraid than ever before, in a country that is supposed to stand for people of all races, ethnicities, sexual preferences, religions, and cultural affiliations. So finally, we hope that you will do everything in your power to quell the fears of every American in this country, and to do as much good for as many people as you can. But rest assured, Mr. President-elect, the American people will be watching.

We will not be silent.

I chose "Beat The Streets" as my organization to support because they avidly help minority groups "beat the streets" through wrestling. "Beat The Streets" also offers various seminars on time management, job search, financial aid, nutrition, and college search. Additionally "Beat The Streets" offers various scholarships for college, wrestling competitions, and wrestling camps. I already devote my time to "Beat The Streets" by helping kids get off the street and find passion in wrestling and academics.

This is article is from Univision Noticias, it's a telievision program fro Latinos who live in the Unites States and it's a way to keep up with the news from here and their country. This article talks about immigrants from Guatemala who are fearing the threats of Trump, especially the one about deportation. Many believe that it can't actual happen, there can't be such a massive deportation of immigrants. But, the actual fear is racial profiling that will continue and become more stronger because of the way Trump has labeled immigrants. This also brings up the fear of temporary workers and undocumented workers needed for jobs. Mexicans aren't the only ones who should be fearing, this is why those from Guatemala are also fearing this massive deportation, since they are the third highest population of immigrants in the United States, right behind El Salvador. It also explains the reasons why immigrants come to this country, to escape the corruption from their home land, but are we going to go down that same path? When Trump said Mexicans aren't bringing their best people to this country, that we are rapist and criminals, he wasn't just talking about Mexicans. He was talking about all the immigrant groups that enter this country and make a living here. We all fear the fact that people actually voted for Donald Trump and supported his ideas, which cause fear to all the minor groups in this country. If our president doesn't want us here and enforces these ideas of these typical stereotypes, where does the American Dream stand?

This is an article in Spanish talking about Trump's victory. The main focus of the article is if Bernie Sanders contributed to Trump's win. Most Bernie supporters voted for Hillary but some voted third party because they weren't thrilled by their choices. In some states people casted ballots with Bernie's name and they even said in Vermont, more than 18,000 people casted votes for Bernie. A person interviewed in the article said he thought Hillary lost because people wanted change and Bernie could've brought that but now Trump will bring change for the worst. Bernie wasn't the only factor accounted for Hillary's loss, but it was an important one. Other reasons were that people didn't want a repeat of the 90s scandals and conservatives just didn't like her. The bottom line of this article is that Bernie Sanders made Hillary Clinton an unpopular candidate and possibly pushed voters away from her.

Dear Donald Trump,

I will start off first by congratulating on your victory in your election. You and Hillary ran an excellent presidential campaign concerning the different issues of the United States, domestic or foreign. Now, as president-elect, you will become the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world. However, your victory has no doubt sent mixed feelings throughout this great country. By now, you’ve heard about the feelings and expressions of your supporters and the Far Right. I would like for you to hear out not only I, but the rest of America that hoped for change.

I, a fellow New Yorker like yourself, was surprised about the election. I was not sad, nor happy of this election. I continued my life by leaving the political atmosphere that formed, yet my mind was clouded with uncertainty of America’s future. At the beginning of your campaign, your rhetoric heightened racial tensions between whites and people of color. You personally never said anything of LGBTQ community, yet your vice-president and supporters say otherwise. Your supporters hold terrible and dangerous thoughts on Muslims in America. Your thoughts of building a wall is my most major concern. I don’t believe this wall you propose will actually keep immigrants out and is unrealistically possible to build. Although I do believe in keeping criminals by deporting them, your plan to deport illegal immigrants in general is not what I agree with. These people sweat for jobs that most Americans won’t even touch. These people have families and children who aspire to reach professional jobs. Yes, the drug trade has affected communities on both sides of the border, but a deportation force kicking out most of America’s workforce is the wrong way to do it. My father is one of those people. He not only works and pays taxes like any other American, but pushes both my sisters and I to excel in our academic career. I have friends from different spectrums of race and a New Yorker yourself would not be surprised at that knowing the city’s diversity.

This letter doesn’t touch most issues as it would be really long, but these are concerns that I’ve heard. The hate speech that has sprouted from your campaign not only affects us but future generations. Despite this, as Americans we now hold our futures towards your presidency. You are now in the spotlight of not only America, but the whole world. We will look at every deal you make, every word you say, every proposal you create and many other things. Now, the world rest on your shoulders. I hope you plead with us and good luck for these next four years.

Sincerely,

Edgar Duran

This article is from Al Jazeera world news, an Arab news outlet that reports on world news. The article is called "The Winning of Trump..Why and How?" The article focuses its attention on how Trump won the presidency. They state how even though Trump won the presidency, he lacks experience and was able to spread his reckless positions through the media, while the media only highlighted Hillary's lack of integrity. The article mentions how because of the scandals connected to Hillary and the scandals that were connected to Bill Clinton during his presidency, it effected her chance to win, even though her opponent lacked experience.

Dear Mr. Trump,
I would like to begin by congratulating you on winning the election. As Americas soon-to-be president, you have gained a great responsibility and you are therefore one of the many faces that will be held responsible for any topic surrounding the status of America. Making America is the primary goal as you have stated. America is a nation that ideally represents union, freedom, and equality. With that in mind, America cannot be created around oppression or division. Having a great split between of opinions between the nations population will lead towards little to no progress over time. Some of the policies you have in consideration appear to be harmful to the country in the eye of the people. Please consider all the pros and cons of your actions. A few actions can lead to this country into complete turmoil. This country has a very diverse population. There are sensitive citizens in this land that have gained fear because of the lack of confidence that resides in this country.
Politics can be complicated. And that’s why you need to take a different approach and assure these people that you will do everything in your power to keep this country stable and positive. Make them feel safe. Make everyone feel at ease while each individual can live their life with freedom. Don’t create more problems. Enlighten everyone with a progressive and positive mentality.

Sincerely,

This article talks about what were the flaws that brought Clinton down during this election and the how will Trumps presidency affect Nepal. Firstly, they list few reasons for her downfall. Some of them were that her speeches were less effective than trumps. Trump always had this powerful speech that had a main target while Clinton repeated things again and again and failed to bring new reforms which most Americans wanted to bring. Adding more to it,her email scandal, and providing a helping hand to protect Bill Clinton from the victim Monica and instead attacking her also led to losing many supporters trust which eventually became her downfall.
On the topic of the effects about Trumps presidency on Nepal were one of the concerned in this article. They stated that countries with little strategic values for the US like Nepal may be put very low on the foreign policy priority which could result as removal of US preferential treatment. Adding more since Republicans now control both houses of US Congress, which means there may be very little Congressional opposition to reducing non-defense budget, including foreign aid might affect Nepal negatively. In conclusion, his presidency is causing economy threat to Nepal.

I choose option number 1 , Im going to donate time to Fierce: LGBTQ youth of color. This organization creates campaigns to bring awareness about police injustices and violence while also providing a safe place for the LGBTQ youth. They also teach leadership and political consciousness to those who join. This organization is particularly important to me since it directly describes many close to me and myself. The LGBTQ community may be getting more recognition but still struggles, I found it very interesting that this group targets youth of color. This is a specific group that I feel is often neglected and need a lot support. The youth many times lack a place to escape a harsh reality in which they might not be accepted. This organization gives them just that, this will allow the youth to grow not just in an environment where they are comfortable in whom they are, but also taught to be a conscious citizen. Not only will Fierce give youth a safe space but also allow them to learn about career fields they might want to pursue. The non-profit organization often realize on its own group to organize much of what they do. I hope to gain a new perspective and contribute to these organizations amazing efforts to help a community that has often neglected.

Growing up, I have always been very grateful for being able to live in New York City. Although my home may not be the best home, I am appreciative for where I am now because I know that my parents have given me a better life than they had. With Donald Trump being the next presidential candidate, many Hispanics are wondering what this means to them. Being an undocumented Hispanic is even more worrisome because of the racist claims that Trump has said about my ethnic group. He has stated that he wants to "build a wall" and "make Mexico pay for it". Many people have crossed the border from Mexico to the United States, including my parents and millions of other immigrants living here. A misconception that many people believe is that only Mexicans cross the border, which creates a wave of discrimination towards that race. Trump has also stated that "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best" and the famous "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists". In the link below, I have provided a short segment on immigrants coming into America. I have grown up watching the channel Telemundo with my family every night, and this segment reflects how spanish channels have responded to the election, showing immigrants and their struggles coming over here and why they are fleeing their countries.

Dear Donald Trump,

You were truly the dark horse of this candidacy. I was confident that Americans were wise enough to elect Hillary Clinton over you to be the next leader of the free world. But little do I know that I am about to live in my worse nightmare. Now with your victory rest assured, I believe it is time to move on, and make my worse nightmare a palatable reality. If you succeed, then the entire nation succeeds. Henceforth, here are some things that should be amended to truly “Make America Great Again”.

America was built on religious and ethnic diversity; a place for acceptance and tolerance rather than persecution. With this fundamental principle in mind, there shouldn’t be a ban on Muslims entering the country nor a deportation of undocumented immigrants. Just because ISIS is an extremist group under Islam, doesn’t mean that all Muslims are extremists. In the resurgence of terrorism, we shouldn’t cower ourselves by closing our doors, but rather open our doors to show and give those who genuinely want a new life a hope to cling onto. And as for undocumented immigrants, everyone deserves a chance to start anew. Once again, just because there are many undocumented immigrants who threaten the national security through their drug trades and what not, doesn’t meant that all undocumented immigrants are like that. There are many undocumented immigrants who place their life on the line just to come to America to escape the grueling realities of their previous countries, and work harder than anyone else to build a sustainable life for their children to grow and prosper. By deporting all the undocumented immigrants, we are crumbling the unity within the United States by tearing families and friends apart. America has always been the icon of a safe haven, and we should live up to this name, not cross it out.

Just as diversity is an integral part of what it means to be an American, so does freedom and equality. People shouldn’t be shunned in society for whatever their sexual orientations or sex maybe. Every human being is entitled with the fundamental right of the pursuit of happiness, and there shouldn’t be a need to masquerade it. Just because their version of living life and pursuit of happiness is different from the established “norm”, doesn’t mean that they can’t have it.

Many Americans are deeply appalled with the results of the election. But as the soon to be President of the United States, I urge you to reconsider your policies. Don’t be the wedge that breaks us apart, but be the glue that keep us together.

Sincerely,
William Ruan

This is a Chinese News Broadcast regarding the American Presidential Election. In the beginning, it expresses people's bewilderment regarding the outcome of the election. They never predict for Trump to win. This prompted the analysis of what Americans prioritize; politics versus business. Hillary and Trump are starkly against each other. They view Hillary as someone who is concerned about America remaining a world power versus Trump who is concerned for the economic side of America. The voting outcome lead the news broadcaster to report saying that vast majority of Americans are more concerned regarding the economy of America than the international relations with other countries. They also referred to Trump as a sapling compared to Hillary Clinton because unlike Hillary Clinton, Trump does not have experience in the political field. Thus they are worried as to whether if Trump can successfully lead the country. China has a positive financial aspect to the election of Donald Trump. It is looking forward to working and mending relations with America. Many citizens of China believe that Trump can be a positive turn for China's economy because many people only know him as a successful business man. Others are disgusted by his views on women, and other racial groups. Lastly, they believe that Donald Trump is probably not going to fully build a wall between Mexico and America; rather he said that to rally up an audience at his campaign.

Dear President-Elect,

I write to you this evening to respond to your comments made against the “Hamilton” cast for delivering a political message to future vice president Mike Pence. Although an anomaly in the theater industry, an improvised speech directed at a member of the audience has never held so much importance. Mr. Dixon spoke on behalf of the interests of all Americans- the ones you are bound to administer in the coming four years. He did not act for or against any specific political party but instead called for a humanitarian cause in your presidency to also look out for the immigrants and minorities that undoubtedly shape America’s economy, population, and culture, among many other things. Your interpretation of Mr. Dixon’s speech as an act of harassment and defamation poses a danger for those seeking to speak up for the underrepresented and underprivileged in the nation. Surely you recognize that your controversial, contentious, and sometimes inflammatory rhetoric has elicited divided reactions from Americans: nearly half of which supported your campaign and half of which didn’t. Acknowledging that half of this country holds views contrary to yours about immigration, foreign policy, economy, and healthcare, I ask that you please mold your political agenda in such a way that it unifies, meets the demands, and ensures the inalienable right to prosper for everyone regardless of their social position or their political and religious views. Encourage free speech, for it is what you have utilized throughout this election to tap into the frustrations of many Americans. This is all that I nobly ask of you Mr. President and I hope that WE as a whole nation Make America Great Again.

Thank You, Leo Loyola

Dear Donald Trump,
Not sure where to start. I'm still having a hard time accepting the fact that you are America's new President. Instead of America taking more steps to a better future, we took hundreds of steps back by having someone with a mindset of yours. I'm very devastated that my very first time as a US citizen voting, and hearing the next day after the election you won. I'm sincerely scared for my family especially my sisters and the future of America.

I know that you say that you are "Make American Great Again." But Sir, actions speaks louder than words. If you are known as someone who is racist, sexist, Islamophobic, homophobic, how can you make America great again if you are going to discriminate? However, if you are serious and you really want to "Make America Great Again" you can start by stop being racist and respecting women and their bodies. Women make up the majority of the population and yet they are treated as a secondary. This needs to stop. Women are not meant to be housewives or used as a sexual objects, they are meant to be equal as men. You also shouldn’t discriminate Muslims because not all Muslims are terrorists.

Now that you are our President, people look up to you and you need to set up good example. How can people stop being racists if our own leader is a racist? Everyone needs to unit and accept one another. We shouldn’t judge people based on the color of their skin, their religion or even their sex. Let our nation be united and not divided. Good luck.

Sincerely,

Pritam Banik

Dear President Elected Donald J. Trump, Coming from an immigrant family and being brought up in a community that is full of diversity, I was exposed to the culture that immigrants and undocumented people offer. From this experience to when I heard that you wanted to deport the people that makes up America, it made me very confused and upset. As a nation it is consist of people who has multiple cultures and backgrounds which is the greatest treasure that America has. Throughout our history people immigrated to our country because we are the symbol for freedom and the pursuit of happiness. Many immigrants and undocumented people come to this country because they were escaping from the hardship that their country pursuited. Through their long riskily journey they eventually arrive to a place that allows them to pursuit the American Dream. So by deporting the majority of the people from our country, you are removing the identity of being an American and of the identity of this country. Furthermore, the way you speak about the different races in our country it disgusts me. We as the minority goes through a series of struggles in order to prove that we are not the stereotypes. By generalizing people to their labels it does not give them the confident to grow to be their potential self. Moreover, you as the elected president need to know that by your actions and words it influences your followers to continue to discriminate our people who is more than just their labels. Also, you need to understand that you will soon become a president, the highest position in the country, who will be the face to the people and to the people internationally. By your actions and words it makes me and others feel like we are watching our history unravel all over again. It is unfair that for many years the minorities are suffering because of tax cuts for the wealthy, the limitation to welfare and the lost of jobs. I guess what I am really asking is for you to be in our shoes and understand that we don't live a lavish lifestyle and some of us are suffer more than others. As a nation we are trying to progress and to become better but this only really start when our president will speak for the people and help stop the discrimination in this country. America has always been an empire who wants to be a role model to the other countries but how can we be a role model when our own elected president does not represent the majority of this country? Now you ask me how can YOU make America great again, well you don't have to because we are already great but what you can do is ask yourself how can I make America even better. My advice is to stop looking at the world with disgrace and discrimination towards women, Latinos, Asians, African American and all the other races. Instead look at our country as a country who has a diverse community with people who is willing to work with you in order to make America the best it can be. Unite our country and allow the minitorties' voice to be heard. Have faith, hope and trust in our people. Just like how this country is yours, it is also ours. Thank you for taking your time to read my letter. I hope this letter will bring you insight to how to amend America to be the best it can be. Sincerely, Arvin Lin

Dear President Trump,

Words from a 16-year-old girl in high school can only do so much but your words hold the ability to ignite the emotions of millions on fire, including me. This is a letter from every girl or woman out there who is now even more afraid to walk in a world where some men now think it is okay to grab them by the “pussy.” A letter from every person who now has to worry 24/7 about him or herself and his or her Muslim family and friends, in fear of them(selves) getting verbally and physically attacked. A letter from every person a part of the LGBTQ community, who feels that the whole world has turned against them. A letter from every immigrant, who no longer feels that America is their home because they are stripped of their rights, not by law, but by society who you have influenced greatly. And though the list may continue, what’s most saddening is that this is a letter from every man and woman out there, who no longer desires to raise a child under this America you have corrupted even more.
As a businessman, you feed the crowd what they want to hear but presidency isn’t a business deal. The life of every individual in America is affected, not just a company. To Make America Great Again, sympathize with every individual and take action so there no longer has to be anything to sympathize with them. What does this mean? For instance, abortion is a constitutional right and every woman should have the resources to perform such an action and that why it is important for you to continue funding Planned Parenthood. Not all women are capable of being mothers at the time in which they are pregnant and it is no one else’s decision but the mother on whether or not she wants to terminate the pregnancy. Furthermore, hate crimes have increased following your presidency, especially among Muslims. In just one year, all Muslim hate crimes rose 67% from 2014 to 2015 (CNN). These are just cases that have been reported but harassment never stops. On the door of an NYU room where Muslims congregate for a peaceful club, your name was written on it. Teach Americans to respect one another and their beliefs and end these crimes. Your words can do so much and it is up to you whether you use them to help us or not.

This video was released a couple of days after the election. The video highlights the rising hate crimes against hispanics around the United States. These hate crimes are in correlation to the election as these crimes were mostly occurring in schools, no matter the grade. Fear is forced into children as they feel like they do not belong, and children shouldn’t be the ones targeted for such abuse. Through the perspectives of many hispanics, there’s a general sense of apprehension that even children are afraid to go to school. For the country to progress, there shouldn’t be millions of people in complete disarray and fear. The clear division between whites and hispanics deprives the nation to come together in solidarity. Additionally, the video shows how these fears will bring up racial tensions that will divide the nation even more. With thousands of latinos against Trump’s presidency, there will be several obstacles regarding immigration that will soon upset and frustrate millions in America. There’s now a clear sense of concern for all hispanics regarding the election.

Dear Mr. Trump,

Make America Great Again! Personally I believe that America is already great because of the diversity. If you want to make America great again then we should be working forward and helping people to see everyone as equals. We shouldn't be taking any steps back toward supporting racism and allowing ourselves to go back to a time where slavery was acceptable. Equality for all people is something that will really help take this country to an amazing place. Not just for all races but genders, and sexuality. This country is called the United States for a reason and I believe that people should be proud and stand together.

It would also help if you showed that not all Muslims are terrorists. Educating people on the truth about our world might bring some new light into peoples lives. It can show people who aren't used to diversity the truth about all the other people that live here.

I also believe that immigrants are part of what make America great because the history of America is built by immigrants. They only people in America who aren't immigrants at there roots are Native Americans, everyone else has roots that steam from a different place in the world. If you ask people where there families are from and where there roots lie, most people will tell you they are from some other part of the world.

Dear Mr. Trump,

On November 9th, 2016, much to my dismay, I woke up to your presidency.

Dear Mr. Trump, I did not expect you to be the president elect who is going to represent the 73,439,604 non whites in America, a number that will continue to grow well into your presidency. You have openly vilified us. We laughed when you accused Ted Cruz’s father of killing John F. Kennedy, when you mispronounced Tanzania, and when you promised that Mexico would pay for the wall. We felt disgusted by your vulgar language towards women. We underestimated your chances of winning the presidency. At least I did.

Dear Mr. Trump, I cannot blame all your supporters for assisting you in your road to presidency. 23% of people in Louisiana are living under the poverty line. Indiana’s factory jobs are being shipped off to Mexico under NAFTA. Unemployment rate is at a staggering 6% in West Virginia compared to the national average of 4.9%. These people are tired. They are tired of working three jobs only to be earning 20,000 dollars a year to feed their family of 5. Dear Mr. Trump, you gave them hope. You told them you were going to bring back factory jobs. You told them they could earn a decent living wage. You told them you would make America great again.

But Mr. Trump, we, the 73,439,604, are all too aware of these false hopes. Instead of making America great again, you will deport the 15 year old girl who came from Mexico at the age four to America for a better life only for her to go back to a country where she will feel foreign. You will register muslims only for America to live the horrors of religious intolerance. You will repeal Roe v Wade only for women to perform dangerous self induced abortions.

Dear Mr. Trump, I am not only afraid for myself, but also afraid for the child in Mosul who is still stirring in his mother’s belly. I am afraid for the girl with the speech impediment crying simply for being born with a disability. I am afraid for the Pakistani boy who no longer loves blue skies but prefers grey skies because “...drones do not fly when skies are grey.”

Dear Mr. Trump to make America great, you do not need to incite religious, ethnic, and nationalistic violence. To make America great again, you separate yourself from corporate America. You celebrate America’s diversity; you don’t disparage the immigrants, the gays, the lesbians, the disabled, the veterans, and women.

Sincerely,
Simatul Rashid

To whom it may concern,
Ever since Donald Trump was elected as the president of the US, there were countless of protests. These people do not protest to kill time; the reason behind it is because they know Trump will not meet their standards. Not only just that, but also crime rate has increased because many Trump supporters have the ideology of powering over certain races. I believe he should address that no matter what race, everyone MUST be treated equal. At least this way, it is clear to the people. Another issue that he stated was discriminating Muslims. Just because ISIS is acknowledge as an extremist organization, it does not confirm that the ideology of Islam is a threat, but the organization itself. Everyday, my Muslim friends live in terror and this is not what America represents. They do not deserve this at all. Even Muslim kids are being attacked when they did not cause harm. Everyone from outside and inside of America holds onto the belief that this is a safe place with many opportunities. However, from watching Trump, he's going to negatively change America. Whether he believes it or not, America is a melting pot, where many different people are united. I believe he should reconsider about banning Muslims from America. There is always a different path to take instead of banning anyone.

This is an article about Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus. In the first portion of the article, it talks about the newly named Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and how he is going to be the top adviser for Trump as Chief Strategist. He wants to create a working economy, secure borders, replace Obamacare, and destroy radical Islamic terrorism. In the next part, it talks about how Trump named Steve Bannon a senior advisor. He is the Chairman of Breitbart, which is a website where past posts have contained many offensive articles and controversial statements. It talks about how Bannon’s appointment doesn't sit well with the public. He has commented negatively on the LGBT community, anti-Semitism views, misogynistic, and being a white supremacist. It also talks about how some people believe that he shouldn’t be rescinded. It talks about Trump’s new advisor and how people are reacting to them.

Option 2:
In this article published by Univision, the author wrote about how some news-outlets felt scared of what President-elect Donald Trump could potentially do to them. Trump is known for insulting the people and news sources who criticize him, calling them liars and corrupt. Some news-outlets fear that during the presidency of the Republican candidate, freedom of press may be weakened. While Donald Trump has yet to officially take up his position as President of the United States, he has left a trail of fear and anxiety in many different communities. Something interesting that I noticed while reading the article was that all 5 comments were attacking the "media" and Hillary Clinton in a similar fashion that Donald Trump would, something I did not expect from a media source in Spanish and one that often criticizes Trump.

I think an organization that I want to dedicate my time and energy to is United we Dream. This organization helps many undocumented people, by stopping the deportation of many young teens and their families. This organization protects and fights for many people that feel as if they don't have a voice. Many undocumented people are afraid, afraid of what, I don't exactly know, but this is an origination I want to be part of because it teaches young undocumented students that they can in fact go to college and become someone in life. Undocumented students are usually discouraged to continue their studies because of the simple fact that they don't have a Social Security number, and not many are candidates for DACA (Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals) or the Dream Act. This organization is also helping many students that are a part of DACA by telling them what they can or can't do until January 20th because DACA can be reversed under Trumps presidency. I genuinely want to educate myself and others about this topic and I really feel like this organization will do just that. I'd like believe that the American Dream isn't dead because I a child of immigrants along many other students are here after all, but who knows what is to come following Trumps inauguration.

Dear President-Elect Donald Trump,

2016 has been a very long and crazy year for you, me and everyone. With the rise of shootings, hatred, crime, divisiveness and the 2016 Election. Now the 2016 Election is over and you are going to be entering office in January, but what about the other things that I have listed? I am a 17 year-old, bisexual, minority girl who lives in a very diverse household. I am African American, Native American and Puerto Rican. I go to a diverse high school. I have learned to treat others how I want to be treated, no matter what race, culture, background, sexual orientation or religion they have. I believe in pro-choice. I want to be a game designer and get into the game industry, which is a male dominated field. Under the American constitution, I am able to be whoever I want to be, but under what is soon to be “your” America, I will be treated as an outcast. I will be looked down upon because I am a minority. I will be looked down upon because I am bisexual. I will be looked down upon because I am a woman. I have a lot against me already, but your presidency will only make these problems bigger. You say you want to “Make America Great Again”, but with the behavior you displayed throughout your entire campaign, that sounds like a load of bullshit. America is already great. It has progressed beyond all of the nations in the world with its freedom and diversity. With your behavior, we have taken hundreds of steps back as if we haven’t progressed at all. Ever since the results of the 2016 Election, crime rates and hate crimes have increased. Swastikas are being spray painted all over the nation. There have been riots and deaths. You have a twitter account and can address awareness to this, since you have power, but instead of doing that, you tweet a complaint about the cast of Hamilton’s words of concern and hopes of their constitutional rights, or so you call, “threat”, on Vice President-Elect Pence. That does not look good for you. Now, I’ve been hearing from some of your supporters that you were just “trash talking” to look tough and that you’re going to be sensible and reasonable in office. I sincerely hope that they’re right. I hope you prove them right for your sake. You don’t know just how much effect you have on people. White supremacists look up to you and the KKK look up to you, but let’s go beyond that for a second. There are people who are of different races, colors, religions and identities that voted for you. Some notable Republicans didn’t vote for you. People that usually voted “democrat” didn’t vote in the election period. You are going to have the ability to add another member to the Supreme Court. Don’t you see? Racists look up to you. Now they’re going to come out in huge numbers because they feel like they can relate you. People are scared. I’m scared. You have had a big effect this whole year and now it’s up to you, now you hold America’s fate in your hands. You are a lot of things, but one thing is for sure: You love America. If you truly love it, instead of breaking bonds, saying inappropriate things and ignoring the voiceless, you relieve America’s pain. Help everyone, not just people like you. Is only helping 1% of America really making America Great Again? I hope you take these things into perspective.

Good luck. You’re going to need it.

Sincerely,
Nyasiah Colon

This video speaks about what will happen now that we have a president elect. The 2016 Presidential election is now over and people in the Spanish speaking community are being informed about what president elect Trump will be doing once his presidency begins and how it could affect them since they live here in the US. The video starts off speaking about Obamacare and how even though the government is mostly Republican controlled & Trump is Republican, Obamacare can not be disposed of due to how it was established as a legislation. It transitions into speaking about nuclear weapons and how Trump is believed to not use them unless there is a serious issue at matter and if Congress does not advice him to do so. Afterwards, it speaks about Trumps as a person and how even though he is our president to be in the upcoming year, there isn't much to be worried about due to how he is not going to proceed forward with every single thing he said during his campaign. The lawyer that was there to inform us says a bit of how he himself was sad about the results of the 2016 Presidential election, as well as many of the Spanish speaking community, but at the end it will be okay because all that matters is that they are being updated on what is going on in the nation today, how they will be effected, and what they could to help themselves.

Dear Donald Trump,
You are our President elect, future president. As you know a lot of people aren’t content with the elections result. People are protesting day and night to make sure their voices are heard. People are living in constant fear of what's to come next. During your campaign, you made very racist and sexist remarks. This comments and remarks have encouraged people to be racist because they think that if someone influential like you did it, it’s okay for them to do it. Minority groups and people of the LGBT community are very scared of how people are going to treat them. People are crying and losing their minds people because the things you have said have made people disrespect them and see them as other. I am a seventeen year old Mexican- American female that is scared because I belong to 2 of the groups you targeted. It not fair that you categorized all mexicans as drug dealers and rapist. You made people think the worst of us. I am the daughter of 2 Mexican parents, and they are one of the most hardworking people out there. They have given both me and my brother an education in order to become productive members of society. Growing up my mom always taught us to “unidos” because as one united family we could conquer every obstacle that came our way. My parents always told us to be respectful and to go school and get an education. They made sure that we went to school even on the coldest days, so that one they we would have a college degree and a good job in the future. Now at only seventeen years old I am scared that because of discrimination I won’t be able to make my parents dream come true. I am scared that even if i do get a college degree I won’t be able to get a good, stable job because I belong to a minority group. My parents being born and raised in mexico are the ones that remind me everyday that “ Nada es imposible, para todo hay una solucion”, nothing is impossible, there is a solution for everything. The people that came from different countries, are the ones who are giving me motivation and have hope that everything will be okay so now it is my turn to give them motivation and hope I have family members that cry themselves to sleep because they are scared of you and your supporters. Your idea of “Making America Great Again” only includes certain people. The American population is made up by people of many nationalities and ethnicities. In order to make America great again you need to be fair to everyone, not only the top 1% and white people. People of minorities groups work everyday to be able to feed their families, a lot of the jobs they do contribute to America in many ways. The people who work cutting fruit and vegetables from fields are primarily hispanics, people who work for the department of sanitation are primarily people of color. These people help maintain American. In order to make “America Great Again” you need to help those people who help contribute to American. You need to tell people that it is not okay to be racist or sexist. You need to be an example of respect and integrity.

Sincerely ,
Lupita Cruz

Dear President-Elect Trump,
To make America great again is to build this country on some of its original principles. This includes liberty for all, justice for all, and equality for every single American. It also means to support the immigrants who come here searching for the American Dream as millions have since the beginning of this country. We have already strived toward these goals these past few years and I wish you will continue that in your presidency instead of stifling these rights endowed upon every immigrant and American no matter what.

I ask you to change your rhetoric that has inspired so much hate and anger. Instead, look around and embrace the religious and racial diversity in America. Instead, understand that not all illegal immigrants are criminals. They are hard-working people who come here for the new and better life that America can offer. They have families and a home here. Instead, know that women cannot be objectified and its never right to do so. Respect women and understand that we have rights to our own bodies. I ask you, Mr. Trump, that discrimination for any gender, race or religion should never be condoned in your policies and in your administration.

As a citizen of America with immigrant parents, I would like to end saying people come here because they see America as great. And yes it can be improved, always, but not in the ways you seek. Improve on equality, liberty, and justice. Do not seek to affirm racial injustices, discrimination, and hatred.

Dear President-Elect,
I have a couple of ideas in which you could make America great. As a start I think we all need to respect each other in this country and treat each other like equals. One thing you could personally do is speak of respect for others and respect for their identity, culture and background. Without that America will not be as strong as it could be due to the divisions that are created through ignorance, hate or fear. Another thing that could make America great is making it more environmentally conscious, not less. Pushing business is understandable but as Americans we owe it to ourselves and in a bigger sense, to the world, to act according to the greater good. As much as industry drives this country, without a healthy planet, there won't be healthy people, or anywhere to continue our way of life. Lastly, I believe strongly that by raising the lowest of Americans, America can have a new standard for what it means to be American, not just the definition of the poor and the rich. Apply the best aspect of capitalism, opportunity, and create that opportunity for those who lack such.
Sincerely, Enmanuel Bencosme

Letter to Trump
Hey Donald,

My name is Tamim Taher. It might be hard to pronounce because I'm a Muslim Bengali. I understand that you've won the presidential election. You've fooled us all Donald. We had taken your participation in the elections as a joke. We really didn't think you'd win, until you actually did. I don't know how you did it Donald-- I think the elections are rigged. There's nothing much I, or the people of the country can do, to undo the results of the elections. However, one thing I can personally do, is tell you how to "Make America Great Again".

Well first, being a Muslim, I was highly offended when you suggest that we be highly monitored and registered in a database. Have you not learned from history? This is much similar to when the Jewish population of Germany was registered into a number system, be again, be "closely monitored". However, things took the wrong turn and there was a genocide. Funny huh? Instead of registered Muslims, who make up a significant population of this country, you can create an environment where Muslims aren't looked down upon. This way, we can make it a better world for everyone.

Secondly, I would like to discuss this little tax break plan that you have in mind. I live in a household with my mom, my dad, and my younger brother. 10 years ago, we would be able to live off of the income that my dad would bring home, but as time went on, my mom had to get a job. This is a struggle that many families face in NYC. Both parents work to send their kids to school and put food on the table. So I think we both know who could use that tax break.

I hope my letter has opened your mind to another perspective. Hoping to hear from you soon, good luck in office Donald.

Worst,
Tamim.

The organization that I've chose is earthsave.org. Of the issues presented in this recent election and for the next couple of years to come, the global warming and deterioration concerns me the most. Trump oftentimes tries to delegitimize the issue of global warming because the Obama administration invested so heavily in it. He believes that there are more pressing issues to focus on such as ISIS and terrorism, causing an overall lax mood towards our environment. Sure, a terrorist attack will have very imminent and apparent consequences, but global warming is very gradual and the effects of which are not felt all at once. That's why it's easier to overlook this as an nonissue. The long term effects of climate change, is more terrible and caustic than any issue amongst humans could inflict. Yes, I believe strongly in the debates concerning the roles of women, what's to be done towards illegal aliens, and public attitudes towards muslims but the very medium used to hash out these problems is in jeopardy, and so are our nonhuman neighbors on it. All of the evidence implicating the human activity on this earth to global climate change is so overwhelming, that denying this fact is equivalent to being a holocaust denier. This organization in particular advocates for changes towards a more plant-based diet and lifestyle to reduce our carbon footprint. What we eat is the single most fundamental change we as humans can make to better out environment because animal agricultural takes up so much resources (most of the Amazon's deforestation, a third of the earth's land, more than two thirds of all grain grown in the the US, and eleven times more fossil fuel to produce a unit of energy of animal protein than a unit of energy of plant based protein) and the list goes on. So the main message of this organization is to go vegan if you are concerned for the environment. What I plan to do to support this organization is donate what is economically feasible for me and continue on working on my lifestyle to lessen my footprint on this earth. After all, every other species will only benefit from the extinction of humans but the extinction of the humble bumblebees will have detrimental effects on the food chain.

This article/video touches base on the United States 2016 presidential election. These two Brazilian news anchor refer to Donald trump as the Business mogul that he is so known for. They mention is grandfather and father, and how he was able to turn their brand into a billion dollar industry. The video continues with the news anchors turning the spotlight to a reporter here in NYC. The reporter begins with showing the audience different magazines and newspapers and roughly translating the title. From the 4 that he showed only one captured the sad reality that many American's were dealing with on the morning of November 10th. The video goes on to show how happy the republicans were after Trump won. For a majority of the video, it kept showing supporters that were with Trump when he won. Hilary Clinton was barely mentioned besides the fact that she was the candidate running against Donald Trump. This news channel didn't seem to either glorify trump nor bash him. They used common words that many people have already associated with trump such as Mogul, business man etc. this news source kept it simple and to the point. They mentioned he won, they mentioned supporters of his party were happy, and they translated his speech the night of the election. The article failed to mention the protests the day after Donald Trump became president. The article failed to mention the accusations made against Trump, and the racial slurs he's said in public. The article also failed to mention his running mate, Hilary Clinton.

So basically there's this Haitian guy standing outside of trump tower talking about how great trump is and praising him and saying that Hillary is the devil for the most part. So this happened because during the Haitian earthquake that hit Haiti the us was sussposed to send money over to help the country I think it was like 20 million dollars or something like that, but instead because of Hillary it was sent to someone or where else in America. Due to this it has taken Haiti a much longer time to get itself off its feet from 2011, the Haitian people blame this solely on Hillary Clinton and therefore won't vote for her.

The organization that I chose is called Radical Women. It's a socialist, feminist organization in central Harlem. Radical Women trains women to become leaders in movements for social and economic justice. I chose this organization because it's in my neighborhood and because it stands for something that I stand for. I love how it grants women in lower-income areas the chance to voice their opinion. Not only that, but to become a leader and polish those skills needed to be a powerful leader. I plan to be a spokesperson for my community in the future. I plan to create more programs like this in the future. Supporting this program will be beneficial to me and many others down the road .

Writing Prompt: Letter To Dusty Trump
Dear Donald Trump, My name is Brandon Wright and I would like to start off by saying I disagree with your decisions for the country. I strongly feel that your plan to send back all immigrants and undocumented citizens is wrong because you don’t know their situations. If you are being put in a position to better the country why sabotage it with these selfish decision of yours? These people you talk about sending away and back to where they came from are humans as well and have a life just like you and deserve a chance to live the American Dream from their perspective of life, that's why they're here. Have you ever tried to put yourself in their shoes under their circumstances ? this is a perfect example of why your presidency will ruin the diverse culture of the United States, Education, Jobs, and more for these immigrant and undocumented citizens targeted by your movement toward them. You also talk about putting away gang member for years of their lives… have you ever thought of programs to help them ? I can honestly say you are a person who has never experienced poverty and everything you have was handed to you and you worked your way up from there. On the other hand others that you talk down on and label weren’t as fortunate as you and have to “get it how they get it” in other words hustle or grind to get to be somewhere near your position. You talk a lot about what’s best for you and type of people with wealth, it's hard to believe you care for all when you only talk growth for your kind. I hope you show us different 2017, we still haven’t heard any of your plans to benefit us as a whole.

Sincerely,

Brandon Wright

This article discusses the issues of how white nationalism/culture is making a huge rise, due to the election of Donald Trump. It touches on the topics of how this leads to more discrimination in the country overall, as discriminatory groups rise up with the election of Trump. Examples of these groups are the KKK, and the Nazi Party of America. The KKK have openly supported trump and even stated that all whites who do not vote for trump are betraying their heritage “No votarlo es traicionar nuestra herencia”. They feel that through Trump winning the election, they can now come forth all together to make sure the white race as they state does not weaken, and become overcome by minorities, meaning basically anyone who isn’t white. This new sense of pride in their leader has led to these groups coming out more publically and gaining numbers as they further gain support to achieve their goals and express their agenda. This is causing groups that protect minorities such as the Black Panthers and The Nation of Islam to speak up against this, and to be as active as ever in an effort to prevent white’s from gaining the superior status they look to regain. This all exploded with the election of Trump, as his election caused these groups to re-emerge and attempt to thrive off his position in leadership.

The organization I choose to support is Feeding American because well clearly they try to help people who without them wouldn't have food. This is a big deal in America due to the fact that 42 MILLION Americans face hunger, and it's not just adults who face this problem 13.1 million children in the United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life. So donate your time to this organization! :)

In all honesty it's hard for me to put any form of trust with in you. As a black American who happens to be a woman, I don't think your'e on my side at all. With this in mind, I think the best way for you to "make America great again" is to prove me wrong. All your core beliefs and policies seem to go against everything that I believe in. My mother was once an illegal immigrant and I have family members who are still illegal. My mother isn't exactly out of the woods, so I think you can understand why I feel threatened. She did so much to get me where I am today, and I'd hate to realize that it was all for nothing. Prove to me that you're not actually a racist, misogynist or bigot. Prove to me that even if you have these personal beliefs, that you can refrain from letting it affect your policies. The way we see you right now isn't flattering. The day after the election I cried. There wasn't much else that I could do. I don't intend to get any sympathy from you, I'm not sure you'd care anyway.

Dear Trump, many people have been traumatized since the final results of the election. Many people felt threatened by the comments and the policies that you stated during your campaign. I believed that a lot of the policies that you stated during your rally created hate instead of unity towards your motto of "America being great again." Moving forward some advice that I would give you to help you make America great again would be to continue to preserve the policies that Obama had already put in place. This would allow America to remain stable, be able to grow economically, and allow the economy to support you as a whole. I believe that you're on a great start since the talk that you had with Obama you agreed to continue certain things. I'm glad that you agreed to preserve some parts of the Obamacare and allow some immigrants to stay etc. Furthermore, I believe that you should prove yourself differently by putting behind all the comments that you stated during the election and actually show that you're going to make change since, we have a president that have a lot of money. The significance of stating that you're a president with wealth means that you can prove the trickle down cycle is actually legit. To elaborate, I believe that you should lessen the the financial gap between the wealthy and the poor. Also, influence the wealthy that own big businesses to employ the poor. Lastly, equalize taxes between the rich and the poor. Although, I don't believe you support that because you're tax returns expose that you don't ever have to pay taxes again. But the more and more the rich get over on paying taxes then that would have an impact on the amount and quality of social services that we have. To conclude the only way America can be great again is if you cooperate with the needs of all people and give equality and love to all groups of people. Sincerely, Zenzile T.

Dear President Elect Trump,

In the span of time that has passed since your election, televised protests have flooded news channels and social media outlets. In quite a few of these protests, violence has erupted. People have been assaulted, hit with items, verbally assaulted, and in a couple of cases even shot. When conversing with a friend who supports Trump openly, I asked him the question, "why doesn't Trump do anything to stop this violence?". He replied by mentioning one of Trumps speeches where he, very briefly, and almost nonchalantly mentions that hurting people is bad and the violence should stop. It was a such a small aspect of the speech, I had to watch the entire speech to find it because it hadn't been separated into its own clip. After telling me this, my friend retorted "he has no control over what his supporters do". This was mind boggling to me. What he just told me is that the elected President of the United States has no control over the people who support him. That he has no obligation to control people. This same logic was used when explaining why Trump does not scold the support of hate groups like the KKK. The only thing I can say to this, is: if you do not disinfect an open wound, you are allowing, and almost expecting it to become infected.

Dear Mr. Donald Trump,

I have a few things to get off my chest that I feel you should care about, because your interests now should be for the betterment of the people. I am a naturalized citizen. I came into this country at the age of five with my single mother and yes, we were after the American Dream. We wanted to be able to afford food and electricity again. My parents wanted a future for me. Seventeen years later, and soon I'm off to college and have had incredible experiences in this country. I am Peruvian, but there is no doubt, I am also American. This is my country and I simply want my voice to be heard by my government. Your election has called into question what it truly means to be an American because of course, we were all immigrants at some point or another. To me, being American isn't simply being born here. It is growing up here, being surrounded and influenced with what America has to offer. We are all equals and we should therefore be treated as that.

Another factor that makes up my identity is that I am a woman. I am a woman and I am afraid. I want to live in a place where I feel safe. Your treatment of women as if men are superior has been shown all over the media. You will soon be President and that means to set an example for a nation. Nobody is perfect and we are all human but you need to try your best to lead a good example for men around the world. That doesn't just mean to be successful but it means to be a just man. You will be in a highly influential position and it would make me feel better as a woman if you set a good example toward men and growing children. I know that my body belongs to myself but many people beg to differ. Your unjust treatment of women has not helped to stray away from women not being inferior. We are not inferior to anyone. Women on a daily basis encounter catcalls and sexual harassment and it would be heartbreaking for these to increase because of your election.

Lastly, I would like a better future for America as a whole. i want to grow up feeling confident in my government. I will soon be an adult and in the future have kids. I want my children to grow up in an environment where I am positive my voice matters. I want my first generation children to feel they can be proud of their roots and not to think they are inferiors because they wouldn't be purely Caucasian, if at all. Your election has roused negative rage on streets. From swastikas being spray painted or bullying people in school because they are of a minority. I recently made a friend who wears a hijab and goes to college in Connecticut and she has already had racist comments thrown at her. Within the first week of your election. I want my children to grow up somewhere that racial slurs no longer exist and minorities are no longer hunted. You will soon be President. This unfair violence needs to come to an end. You have to find a way to control these people because they cannot do whatever they please simply because you are soon to be President. Please don't let me down. Don't let your country down. I hope you succeed so our country doesn't get worse, prove us wrong.

Sincerely,
Tatiana Alfaro

The Activist Alliance organization advocates for women's productive rights, women's economic empowerment and the end of violence and discrimination against women and girls. I chose this organization because it is advocating for a cause that affects me since I am a young women. For a long period of time, women have been looked down upon and have been seen as not an equal fit for certain occupations. In some cases, women have to prove their worthiness to illustrate that they are worthy for holding a political position for example. Women are equally needed as men in society for it to be prosperous. There shouldn't be a line drawn between a man and a woman, because at the end of the day we are still human beings with strengths and weaknesses. I will donate more of my time to learning more about this organization to grow more of an interest in what it is promoting.

I chose to my time to the National Organization for Women. They are an organization that spends their time contributing to increasing the status of women, focusing on trying to find ways to stop sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and help gay and lesbian rights and civil rights for women. I chose this organization because due to the words and actions of Trump, I felt that there has been a lost of respect for women. Trump's "locker room talk" wasn't acceptable. I believe that this organization will help to give women the respect they deserve. They have a campaign called "Love Your Body", which is mainly focused on young women. This campaign aims to promote women's health and object to the harmful and unhealthy products that women use trying to live up to the "beauty standards". It helps to promote that women are beautiful just the way they are. I could donate my time and energy by spreading the word about this organization and talking about all the amazing this they are doing to help empower women.

Two organizations that I am supporting is the Sadie Nash Leadership Project and CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations).

For two years, I have been a part of Sadie Nash. This organization is geared towards young female leaders who are of colored. I love this group because I am a feminist and Sadie Nash talks about reproductive justices and in general social injustices. There are so many events occurring right now to protest against Donald Trump. Sadie Nash protects my right to be a female leader and voicing my opinions to what I am passionate about.

I am a female Muslim. Donald Trump has said so many disgusting things about Muslims being terrorist, that we don't belong here, and that he would put Muslim I.D. cards. That is very scary because my mom and dad have been living in the United States for 20+ years. And to see that one man can bring so much hate to us is very traumatizing. CAIR is an organization that I would donate money so that this organization can continue to their work in civil rights, research, and interfaith outreach. CAIR is willing to work side by side with Donald Trump to improve relations with each other. WE are not going anywhere.

The organization I chose to donate my time to was the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC). They are an organization that devotes their time into helping "newcomers" adjust and become apart of our society. Newcomers such as immigrants, refugees, and asylees are united through the NYIC in order to give them the chance to pursue their dreams along with other Americans. The NYIC has advocated for law, policies and programs that ensure that immigrants are granted sustainability. Although I am not 18 yet, I plan to spread the word of this organization to many friends and family that have connections with immigrant individuals in order to provide them with an equal opportunity for advancement and stability.

http://www.thedailystar.net/us-election-2016/us-election-2016-what-do-netizens-bangladesh-say-1312036

It was difficult to find actual Bengali news so I was left with this blog (link is above). In this blog Bengali people are say things like this was a incident to remember when Trump and Brexit became president. Another person said how this day should be 9/11 (which doesn't make sense unless he's saying that Trump it the terror). A college student said, “If a racist, misogynist like Trump can become president despite having no political experience, I can ask out the girl whom I don't have a chance with.” So based on what these Bengalis are saying anyone can hold his position and do whatever they want because their strongest backup is this election itself. Another person commented that he saw this election coming this way because he felt that Americans, deep down had this animosity toward immigrants and would do anything to get rid of them. It's evident through these different perspectives that this election is tough to describe and justify because there can be another person saying that they hate Hillary more than Trump so they rather have this 'xenophobic', 'unstable', and 'racist' person as the president.

Dear Donald Trump,

I know that I may be one of many letters that you get. But if you do decide to read this, I would like to let you know some things. First of all, I am a 17 year old senior in a NYC public high school. Soon enough I will become an adult, entering into a world of responsibilities and challenges. I will become an adult in a world where you are president. It doesn't comfort me to know that. You ran your campaign on ideals and mantras that go against everything that I am and stand for. I come from an immigrant family, I am a woman, I have LGBT family members and I am multiracial. How can I trust your leadership when almost every one of my rights was being threatened by your campaign?
I am writing this letter to tell you that I would like you to ensure that my future rights and those of my family, friends, and community are going to be secured.“My body, My choice” was ranted at many rallies against your election. Will your presidency allow me to have a choice in what I do with my own body? To make America great again (if it ever really was), I would like to have the right to my own body and make my own sovereign choices over it.
As a black and Hispanic woman, I am afraid to live in a world under your presidency. Your words have given racist groups such as the KKK new strength and motivation. As my president, I would like you, not only to reject these groups and ideas, but to also show it in your actions. I want you to fight against the inherent racism in this country and don't deny it doesn't exist. I want you to fight as hard as you can to reverse the Islamophobia that grew out of your campaign. I want you to open your heart and see those “bad hombres” as you say, as regular human beings who are entitled to the basic rights as anyone else.
The accusations of sexual assaults made against you and the way you responded to these accusations have troubled me. Sexual harassment is not “locker room talk”. You are only appropriating what is called rape culture and normalizing an action that has put many women in pain and in traumatizing situations. As President, I want you to fight for women, for their safety, against the threats of rape and sexual harassment.
As My family waited to see the results on that fateful election night and your name was announced as winner, one of my family members broke down in tears, not in happiness or celebration but in fear. She asked, “what if, in the future, I want to marry my girlfriend? What does this mean for us?” LGBT have fought for many years for the right to marry and now, under your presidency, it is threatened. Will you protect their right to marry, to be together? To make America Great again, I want you to keep in mind, again, that LGBT are regular human beings who love and have the right to marry whoever they want to. It is not in anyone's place to revoke that right which they have just won.
As a conclusion, Mr. President-Elect, I want you to see immigrants, women, LGBT, POC (people of color) and anyone threatened by your election as human beings. Human beings who are frightened about their future, who are wondering whether their rights will be upheld. Human beings under your leadership who need you to keep them in mind while leading America. Human beings that deserve to live in peace and security. They make up the country you will soon lead. By remembering to be a leader for ALL is one sure way to make America great again.

With total sincerity, Danielle Guevara

The organization I chose is Positive Workforce. My reason is because they help provide jobs in the construction field to minorities starting at 18 years old, as an alternative to not doing anything with your time. I currently participate in their events that they have to help get their name out & get more publicity + jobs!

Right from start, the title of this article stands out and creates a negative perception of the results of the election. The article's name is “Trump is President! Who in Poland should be scared? “ The article talks about how the results of this election will affect Poland’s economy. The article goes on to say “Z punktu widzenia ekonomii czekają nas tygodnie niepokoju i pewnego chaosu” meaning from the economical point of view, we are expected to encounter weeks of anxiety and some chaos. The next line goes on to say ” Niektórzy z nas słono zapłacą za zwycięstwo kandydata Republikanów.” Meaning some of us will suffer dearly as a result of a win of a republican candidate.

The article talks about how the stock exchange in Poland will suffer and with it will the price of gold. An Economist (an expert in this article) says that Trumps policies are still very unclear and that no one really knows if he will downgrade NATO or if he will strengthen the ties with Russia and what does that mean for Poland? The article later states that due to Trump’s unknown policies there will be a delay with new jobs and development around Poland because no one really knows what’s Trump’s position on NATO. The article ends with a statement stating that people are now scared to invest in Poland because of the uncertainty of Donald Trump’s policies.

Dear President-Elect Donald J. Trump,
For as long as I can remember I’ve appreciated the freedoms and liberties this nation was founded upon. For those excluding blacks, asians, and hispanics/latinos at least. We’ve come a long way since the days of slavery and segregation. However, with the rhetoric of your campaign, it is as if we are taking one step forward, two steps back. The way in which you’ve used racist ideologies to gain publicity and media time, shows us how great you are at your job, as an entertainer, not as our future president. A president can’t and shouldn’t seek to divide our country any further than what divisions already exist. Instead, you as a president ought to be focused on uniting our country and uplifting it. We are called the UNITED States of America for a reason, and I just wish that your presidency seeks to instill values of hope and prosperity amongst all Americans.
Thank you, Kevin

This article discusses the case of a woman named Saeeda Islam who is in fear of her life as she is a target of being a part of three minority groups that Trump has openly looked down upon. After a very close election, Trump became President-elect and images of hate crimes targeted towards many minority groups have been flooding almost every media outlet. The thought of Trump becoming President put many Muslims, Women, Mexicans and many other minority groups at a fear for their loved ones as well as themselves. With Saeeda being Mexican, Muslim and a woman Trump’s election was a nightmare made reality. She describes a few incidents where Trump supporters have insulted her and told her “there is no place in this country for someone dressed the way she was”. Activists fear that the racial divide that Trump has created with his controversial campaign is one that might not be mended. Although she remains fearful of the future of President- elect Saeeda is not going down without a fight.

An activist program that I know of is the Liberation Program otherwise known as "LP" .This program can be found within a larger organization named The Brotherhood Sister Sol. Originally made by two young African American men named Jason Warwin and Khary Lazarre. Both graduates from Brown University and old neighborhood friend,The two men came up with a program that would get young African American and Latino men off of the streets and into a community where they would educate and give them opportunities that usually are not given in the space. Such as a chance to travel, speak their mind, and express themselves in ways they felt they couldn't. Soon also adding a girl group to the program 4 years later .One of the programs within this the Liberation program that teaches young African American about how to become young activist and how to approach a revolution. Teaching them the history of those leaders who have fought for their rights and those who have made a large impact in society with their words and courage. They go into depth about the impact oppression overtime and the way it has effect specific minorities. I chose this program not because I've been in the program itself for 10 years but because there is literally nothing like the same or energy in a place like Harlem. Living in a community that is known to lack a sufficient amount of resources compared to those who live in wealthier conditions makes it seem we are living with something that no other kid can receive. Having a program like Liberation program helps minorities realize the strength within yourself and the ways that we can influence each other in positive and impactful way. Brotherhood Sister Sol is a jewel among the millions of coal and dirt squished together by pressure. It takes people like Jason and Khary to understand the pressure that this world has put on community like ours ands decided to make a jewel of a program to help realize that within all this that is going on around us in our world never doubt your worth and the things you can do.

After Donald Trump was elected as President one of the first things he did within the first week was appoint Myron Ebell to lead the transition of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Donald Trump believes that global warming is a “hoax”, climate change isn’t real, so it makes sense that he would appoint Ebell who believes pesticides aren’t bad for us or the environment and that global warming is a myth. The fact that both of them have called global warming “bullshit” is just dumbfounding, how can you not believe in global warming? Saying it’s just how the weather “works” doesn’t make sense when the polar ice caps continue to melt at continuous rapid rates every year and the death of polar bears continue with it. Global warming is affecting everyone including wildlife. Greenpeace is the largest independent direct-action environmental organization in the world that works to spread the word about global warming, living toxic free...etc.

Greenpeace stands by “We defend the natural world and promote peace by investigating, exposing and confronting environmental abuse, championing environmentally responsible solution, and advocating for the rights and well-being of all people.” I chose this organization because I do support it, I have donated money to it a couple times when cashiers bring it up but that’s it. I really stand by what they do, this organization can enable people around the world to be educated about this issue and learn different ways we can change the world for the better. People don't have the tools or resources to do the things this organization can do, but donating money to it supports them and the research they plan to do. I feel like it’s one of the most genuine organization where they really stand by what they are and what they do and it’s a very active organization.

Donald Trump emphasized that Poland can count on the United States at the time of his reign, also in the military, he talked about all aspects of cooperation esp NATO. For now the president of Poland is satisfied because there is a possibility that Poles will be able to get VISAS to the US which takes over a year usually. However, there is no promise that Trump can benefit Poland and now its a waiting game.

The youth of our local Mosque, Madina Mosque, (Located on the corner of 11th Street on 1st Ave.) have been thinking a lot even before the election. We have done many projects throughout the past 7 years that have involved giving back to the Muslim community, as well as the regular New York community. For example, in 2011, we partnered up with ICNA (Islamic Circle of New York) and throughout the summer, we went deep into Harlem and had a barbecue with the African American community located there. Along with that, we handed out book bags filled with school supplies to the little kids that were about to embark on another year of school, and the smiles on their faces were truly heart warming. We gave out 10,000 back packs that day, and established a strong bond between us Muslims and the Harlem community. We also worked with Trees For the Future and planted thousands of trees throughout the Bronx and Queens. We've been involved in numerous events and they've all seemed to tie into one specific goal: to clear up the image of who a Muslim really is. I, along with Muslims all over the country have been striving for years to reveal to the general public of how beautiful Islam really is, and how it's fair at all to completely alienate an entire religion due to the actions of certain individuals. And because there's constants conflicts that arise when we try to spread the ideology, the Ummah (Muslim Community) continues to break, and causes more Muslims to conceal their identity, and be ashamed of who they are. But there needs to be a push for making our lives a better because in the world we live in now, the only person you can really help is yourselves. I'm down to help anyone no matter who they are because I believe that you should never miss out on a chance to help someone in need. But the Ummah will always be my first priority because that's how I was raised, and there needs to be a push for Muslim based facilities and organizations that aid everyone around the world. And Inshallah (By God's will) can allow Muslims to come out and not be afraid to call themselves Muslims, and sever the tainted image of what Islam really is.

But back to the present day. It took most of us to soak in that Donald Trump had become our President. I had an inkling way back in 2015 when Trump said he was running back in 2015 that he was going to win. I'm not saying that to sound like a wise ass, but growing up in the city revealed to me how our society really is. And if racism explicit in our very own New York City, who knows how rampant it was all over the country itself. The gap between the minorities and the 1% was clear to me for quite some time, and the harsh reality had hit me like a freight train when Trump was announced our 45th President of the United States. The main thing that was running through my mind throughout the election itself was the crisis of Syria. It's been over looked numerously, and brushed under the rug from the public. But I knew that no matter who was running our country, America was still going to kill innocent Muslim lives, and the war was not going to end. With all of this in mind, the Madina Youth had come up with an approximation that we ourselves can control, and somehow aid the Syrian refugees and citizens all the way from the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

We created our very own clothing line that would raise awareness to the crisis in Syria, specifically Aleppo. If Gary Johnson (The guy was running for President and yes, people voted for him) didn't know what Aleppo was, then we came to conclusion that many of New Yorkers aren't sure what is is either. But that's okay, because that's where we come in. We created our very own shirts that has a very unique design that is sure to spark the public of what Aleppo really is. We plan on selling at least 250 shirts, and they each go for $27 a piece. I'm sure the price seems a bit high for a a regular long sleeve shirt, but we plan on using the money we raise to donate to hospitals in Syria. Last I checked, (which was a month ago) Syria only had 30 hospitals left. Hospitals are the major targets for the bombings in the Syrian Civil War, because it results in the most casualties and the wounded could not receive any treatment. We plan on giving at least 40% of our profits to Syria, so $10,80 cents of the $27 you pay will be used to build hospitals and possibly save thousands of lives. And Inshallah (by God's will) if all of the 250 shirts are sold, we will at least make $3,000 dollars with the assistance of other donations we receive. Of course, we looked into many organizations that deal with aiding other nations, and UNICEF and the Red Cross were all eliminated due to their numerous cases of them profiting over 60% of their fund raisers. After a lot of research, we partnered up with Wasalam UWT (Ummah Welfare Trust) due to their numerous successful projects that affiliate with aiding the poor and damaged, and not having any controversy under the organiza

But to finish off the cut off part:

Wasalam UWT is known for their 100% Donations Policy and has no corruption or controversy behind it. So that is our go to organization.

In doing so, I will be wearing the Aleppo shirts numerous times from here on out to promote the business as a whole, and to raise money/sell shirts at the same time. I hope you all at least take a look at the shirt or donate some money to Syria because as regular high school students, we tend to ignore numerous opportunities to donate money or help a nation/person in need. But that's because we generally think it's a scam or we let our greed get the best of us. But for this project specifically, I encourage you all to buy a shirt because if the all of us seniors (126 of us) were to buy a shirt, then we could ideally knock out almost half of the targeted sales! Of course, I know our grade very well, and am aware that not everyone is going to buy a shirt, and that's perfectly okay. But just keep in mind that this is the perfect chance for you all to be part of something bigger, and actually make a difference in the cruel world we live in today where people are dying every second that passes by. And with your contribution, you could save thousands and even millions of innocent lives. Keep in mind that majority of the Syrians that are being killed are mostly kids our age or younger, and just let that all sink in. And if that all doesn't persuade you, then I'm not sure what will. I'm sorry if my words caused any anger to anyone but that is truly how I feel. And Ms. Waller, if this response was too long for the Homework assignment itself, forgive me. But that is all I have to say.

Have a goodnight Manhattan Hunter Science's Class of 2017.

Dear President-elect Donald Trump,
I am writing to you to voice my opinions on what you should do to "Make America Great Again". It is a fact that the LGBTQ+, immigrant groups, minorities and women are very fearful of what is going to happen to our rights. Oh, by the way, I am a 16 year old black female growing up in a time where your actions as president will directly affect my generation and the generations after mine. Regarding foreign affairs, I hope that you do not engage in any unnecessary conflicts because 1) I would rather our national debt get higher and 2) innocent lives do not need to be taken over trivial and minimal conflicts that can be solved with peace talks and negotiations. Another big piece of advice/thoughts on your presidency is that you should really, really, really think about what you say and who you say it about. I understand that we are in a time of immense activity with technology to connect the world together, but with having that things that you say have severe consequences with them, especially regarding certain foreign leaders. Now, this is a very important piece of advice because there have been many neutralizing and peaceful relations between the US and other countries that have take a long time to do. Now moving onto domestic issues. I really need to stress on the issue of taxes because if you cut taxes for the rich but raise them for the poor, you will have a screwed economy because there is not enough money for people to live off of if most of it is going to taxes. Another big topic is women's health and insurance. Personally, having family members apart of Obamacare has been a huge help for them regarding their medical bills and prescriptions and having good doctors. Regarding women's health, while having President Obama's current insurance policy women get free birth control which is a huge thing because birth control is very expensive and needs to be in our, women's, lives. Lastly regarding the LGBTQ+ community, there needs to be a bigger stress on our rights and what the states can and cannot do. I know that my letter is just the one of thousands that you get a day but if you read it I sincerely hope that you take my points of topic and put them into consideration for your 4 years in office.
With the deepest sincerity,
Victoria Pinnock-Toliver.

This Spanish article is titled "Latinos 'in power' in the era Trump". Darren Soto, Ruben Kihuen, Catherine Cortez Masto and Adriano Espaillat are all Latinos and are the new faces in the government. Darren Soto Became the first Puerto Rican congressman for Florida. Ruben Kihuen, a Mexican immigrant would be Nevada’s first Latino congressman. Catherine Cortez Masto from Nevada, is a Mexican American who would be the first female Hispanic ever elected to the U.S. Senate. Adriano from New York became the first Dominican representative. The article states that this is “...a step in the long journey towards political empowerment of Latinos as voters and candidates." Also, this is a way for the governments to actually represent/reflect the diversity of this country. According to the article, this is the most Latino representation in congress in history but that Latinos only represent 7.1% of the two chambers even though the Hispanic community is the largest minority in the US.

I chose to donate money to Captive Animals Protective Society (CAPS). My reason for this is very straight forward, I hate seeing animals locked in a cage rather than out in the wild where they belong. Since I was a child I have been around animals and admired their beauty. I would see them more in the Dominican Republic roaming free, and living here in the city you don't see their natural beauty much, or see animals at all. Going to the zoo used to be a great adventure, until I realized all the abuses the animals go through in zoos, and regardless seeing the animals through glass wasn't the same as seeing them in their natural space. To take an even further step on this topic, I've decided to pledge not to visit zoos, or animal circuses. As well as volunteering at animal care shelters.

Dear Donald Trump,

America was never really great to being with, but to make it great for the first time ever you can be more respectful to the people who make this country run. Every person no matter how rich or poor helps this country function, you should never over look the middle man ever. Diversity is the definition of life, even for the people who support your anti-anything other than white views, even they aren’t the same. Everyone is different , and that can’t just be tracked by skin tone or religion. To make this country great, try and educate people on this fact, that their isn't just one race of people and everyone else that is outside of that race does matter, because at the end of the day we are all human beings. Education is key to helping people get good jobs so if there is better access and affordability of this fundamental necessity it could potentially solve the problem of welfare and other government aid. Now obviously that wouldn’t happen over night but it is a start to getting this country on the right path to getting out of debt. This country holds .5% of the worlds population and yet it hold 25% of the worlds imprisoned population, this is a huge problem. There needs to be a change in the penalties given for certain crimes. Not to say that it is okay to break the law but if a person is a first time offender on a small charge such as possession of marijuana , then some community service hours and making it a requirement for the person to find a legit job so that they don't have to resort to selling drugs is a fair punishment, not 5 years in prison. These are some of the steps you can take to make this country truly great.
 Sincerely,
Brianna Watson

Dear Mr. Trump,

First off, I would like to congratulate you on becoming the 45th President of the United States of America. This country was built upon freedom, liberty, and justice, no matter what ethnic background, race, or religion you practice or believe in. After watching you and your strive to become president, I am concerned about the direction that this country is heading in. I believe that if you set aside some of your insensitive remarks and ideas, you would know that America is already great. Regarding your motto "Let's Make America Great Again!", I am a bit confused as to how America isn't already considered to be a great country. This nation has changed drastically over the past century. Our country promises equal opportunities for all. It would be a great tragedy if you, the president of the United Sates, does not approve or promotes these ideals. Ultimately, I hope that you will follow through and me mindful of the need of all the people.

Thank You,
Vincent Ortiz

In an interview with ex president of Mexico, Vicente Fox judges most of what president Trump had to say. Throughout the video Vicente Fox says that Trump is ineligible to be in the position of power he was assigned. That he is a liar and shouldn't say that Mexico will pay for the wall. Vicente recalls Trump saying he'll build a wall and changing it to a fence. Vicente Fox believes that some people in the United States will obligate Donald Trump to be more responsible and encourage him to make better choices. The ex president is looking forward to seeing where Donald Trump will find people for the "crops in California, the apples in the state of Washington, for the construction in Las Vegas". When asked about the possibility of many immigrants being deported back to Mexico Vicente Fox reassures that they will be accepted with open arms. The Mexican Consulate already has a plan for those who will be deported. The ex president wants to make sure that they keep their dignity and wants to guarantee absolute respect if they were to come back to Mexico. When it comes to Donald Trump threatening the trade and agreement between Mexico and the United States Vicente says that trade will change. Mexico is in agreement with Europe, most of Latin America, and Japan. He comforts those in the United State who are scared by telling them not to be scared, that Donald Trump can't and will not do most of what he wants. Fox wants Enrique Peña Nieto (current president of Mexico) to meet with Donald Trump and remind him that Mexico and the United States are friends and partners and it should stay that way.

In this article, there is a main concern on studies in the United States. Meaning people who leave their country to study abroad. Ever since Donald Trump was elected president, there is a rising question whether or not international students will have the opportunity to continue to come to the United States to receive the education that they want. A part that had stood out to me was when this was stated "la promesse de Donald Trump de mettre en œuvre des mesures de « contrôle extrême » à l’égard des musulmans et d’autres immigrants « est de nature à dissuader certains étudiants de se tourner vers les universités américaines »" . This meaning that with the promises that Donald Trump made on banning / placing control on immigrants that are Muslim and other immigrants, may turn many students/people away from getting the education that they would like. Also it's not noted in the article but many people come to get their education in the US because in their homeland , there are problems which cause not to have enough for education or it's just that the level of teaching is low, encouragement is not giving to the children.
By the article, stating that in order for the international students to have the right to come to the US, they will need a visa. With that to strangers out looking onto the US or foreigners seeking a new home the US is now viewed as a place where they are not going to be accepted. At the end, of the article it states that there may be more foreign students studying in Europe.
This should scare us because why are people now going to stopped of coming into a country based on their background/where they come from. If you are seeking a better life and a higher level of education, why should that right of yours be taken away because of a "new President"?

The activist organization that I would like to support and participate in is CAIR NY. This organization's goals are to not only empower American Muslims, but to also protect civil liberties. CAIR supports free enterprise, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. They always make sure the voices of Muslims are heard when they are being ignored by the rest of the world.
I want to support this organization because I am an American Muslim and I'm tired of hearing stories that no one ever talks about. I'm all about spreading awareness about these issues and things Muslims go through. They offer protection to millions of people who are just like me. They make me and my community safer. I am going to donate to CAIR to support all the work they do.

An activist organization that I would be willing to donate my time to is the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). This organization fights to protect animals worldwide whether they're an endangered species, affected by a natural disaster or are being abused. The goal of this organization is to keep these animals safe. The reason that I would be willing to donate my time to this organization is I've loved animals ever since I was a child but once it was brought to my knowledge the abuse that these animals have to go through mainly because of humans and our wants or some of our actions they are now endangered. A way that I would be willing to donate my time to this organization is by donating money to this organization.

Dear President Donald J Trump,
My president is black and my lambo is blue. How you won the election I don't have a clue. If you really want to make America great. Start by going to solve problems in each individual state. Help fight against the mentality of racism and hate. People with African American descent aren't like their grandfathers or grandmothers, sincerely these hands. Create equality and equity. There's no reason there are more people living on the street without the basic necessities. If our economy is the ideal economy why are so many people living in poverty? We are all apart of the same race and that is the human race. So why do some individuals get excluded from opportunities based on the color of their skin? I'm not saying you're responsible for the systematic failure skewed towards minorities that has been put in place for generations. Even though you did run your campaign on a platform built on racism and a capitalist mindset. However, I am holding you responsible for the change that you have the power to make. Inevitably the change begins with you. You have the power to instill a positive change in America even though you took the country by storm on such negative negativity.
Sincerely,
A young African American female with a dream.

Caridades Católicas is a sanction for undocumented families who seek help. This place offers help to those families that can not rely on help from the government. They provide them with meals, clothes, and even shelter. Now that Trump has been elected, many families are super scared and worried about their safety and fear being deported. Some of these families have even expressed thoughts about leaving the country. They crossed into the country because their home countries were in poverty and political unrest. They came here for a better life and with Trump coming into presidency they are shocked. Many do not know how to feel. Now more than ever, the Caridades Católicas has made a promised to sick by, defend, and continue helping these undocumented families.

This article discusses the president-elect and his meeting with Kris Kobach, governor of Kansas and possible cabinet member, revealing how the Associated Press took a photo of a page that details his plan. The article emphasizes how the words 'terrorist' and 'deportation.' They reveal how Trump's plan includes the wall to be built between the U.S. and Mexico rapidly over about 2,000 miles. The emphasis of Trump's wall is justified as many readers of Univision are Mexican. I find the tone of the article to be stern compared to the non-Trump related articles, showing how the election has had a negative effect not only on Americans, but on non-American Latinos and especially Mexicans. It's worth noting that the article was posted significantly earlier than other news outlets like NBC and ABC. Despite claims of criminalization, many Latinos in the U.S. aren't and I feel that is the general tone Univision is trying to convey, while maintaining their objectivity as a news outlet.

An activist organization that I chose was the White Helmets, a Syrian based group of ordinary civilians that have become volunteer rescue workers. They do not pay attention to religious or political backgrounds, they only recognize how Syria has become a dangerous place for its people. From chef to doctor to lawyer, these people took on the responsibility to save civilians that are killed ultimately as a result of the bombings. Barrel bombs filled with nails and explosives drop from the sky and destroy anything-or anyone-it lands on. The White Helmets search the wreckage for survivors, carry anyone in need to medical aid, and assist in any way they can. They are always unarmed. So far, according to their website page, they've saved more than 73,000 people. Because of them, I realized that I wanted to do the same thing. They risk their lives solely for the people of their country, who have unfortunately been caught in something that is out of their hands. Because of them, I have learned from the perspective of those in the situation first hand. I want to fight for justice for the Syrian children and their family, and this organization was the perfect push.

I am a 17 year old girl who wants to be a pediatric oncologist. Currently, we have a new president- elect who isn't much in favor of women advancing especially women advancing outside of the home. Although, in present day 2016, women play pivotal roles outside of their home, it seems as if we're about to go back to when women played little to no role outside of the home hemisphere. On the other hand, the AMWA (American Medical Women’s Association) on a “local, national, and international level [serves] to advance women in medicine and improve women's health.” To me especially, women advancing is very important and women's health is one of my number one priorities. In the U.S. there are already more male doctors than female doctors and when it comes to surgeons, there's this stigma that “male surgeons are better than female surgeons.”
I know as a strong supporter of this organization, I will do my best to encourage women to pursue health careers. I was 8 when I decided I wanted to pursue a health career and I believe anyone can do it. Furthermore, women's health is a big issue since not all women have the same privileges. Privileges in the women's health include having money to see a gynecologist and/or menstrual hygiene. These should not be privileges, they should be rights entitled to every woman regardless of age, race, ethnicity, status. I know I want to be a part of this organization to ensure that menstrual hygiene is available to every women across the globe, I want to raise funds to make sure that I can deliver materials to women everywhere in the world, such as women in shelters, homeless women, etc. This is something I want to work on, because nothing should be just a privilege, it should be a right.

Dear President-Elect Trump,
Congratulations on your election, I have to say I am still in a bit of shock that you won the presidency. However, I personally think that there are ways you can help to make America great again with the help of the people. You need to work on gaining the support of all the Americans of all religions and all race. There are people in this world the fear you sir. The fear of thousands of people in America of being deported has consumed the personality of many Americans all over the world. They are scared of going back to places who will not accept them and more or less torture them and place harsh restrictions on them. America is one of the few places people come to gain a limited amount of freedom that they could not get in their own country of birth. America is all about diversity, and if you cannot accept how diverse America should or should be I don’t think your presidency will be a success. In addition, I have built up animosity towards your supporters on muslims, and Arab people. Muslims in America are feared for the concept that all are bad and trying to bomb America. Your supporters go too far and even threaten Arabs that walk by. You need to gain the support of everyone by showing you are not racist and that you support everyone in this country 100% and do right for them. You need to appeal to more women by respecting their bodies, appeal to Muslims by working to change the stereotypes on them, and this wall thing can’t happen, you need to find another way to restrict the number of immigrants coming into America. You cannot deport thousands of immigrant because you call them rapist and murderers. My final advice to you is to appeal to all.

Sincerely Jonathan Lacmanen

She should run: an organization to create a culture that inspires women and girls to aspire towards public leadership, something this country desperately needs right now.

This activist organization interests me because it helps women feel like they have a purpose and allows them to be aware that they have a voice and they can be leaders of this corrupt nation. Women very often are told to stay shut and not step into things that don't pertain to them. As a society there needs to be an understanding that women matter too and their voices are just as important as mens. There needs to be more women figures in society that stand up fro the ones that are silent.

My letter to trump :)

Dear Donald J Trump,

My name is Rachael Ajayi, and I am the child of immigrants, in fact I was the first person in my family to be born in the United States. My parents came over here because they wanted to provide me with a better future then I would have had in Nigeria. There was a point where you questioned whether or not west African immigrants came to America for the right reasons. You insinuated that we're all scammers and criminals. This is utterly and truly false. When my dad came here the first thing he did was find a job. He had to do little things like security and janitorial jobs because that's all that was offered to him. After a few years though, he had saved up enough to go back to college and earn a degree. Once he got the degree that he worked so diligently for he got a better job and was able to bring his heavily pregnant wife( my mom) and daughter to America so that we can be together again and start a new life. A few months after my mom arrived she gave birth to me in Maimonides hospital in Queens, NY. A few years after this my dad received a promotion at work and was able to move us into a house in Brooklyn. Is this not the epitome of the American dream ? To go to school, get a job, start a family and provide for that family ? My dad did just that and legally! He came to America with a dream and he turned it into a reality. That's why banishing all immigrants from the nation will hurt me. Doing that would leave me fully responsible for my little brother and I'm only 17 years old. I have goals and dreams that I want to accomplish. This little girl wants to be a successful and world renowned Obstetrician and I will do just that. No law that you pass or wall that you build can prevent that from happening. I am going to make my parents who sacrificed so much for me proud. I'm going to make their sacrifices worth it and no president, radical, racist, rude, or not can stop me .Mr. Trump I hope that you understand how much everything you say affects the citizens who didn't vote for you. We live in a fear that our new president doesn't even care for us our well being and will make living in this nation impossible for us. Please take into consideration every one in this nation and not just the top 1 percent. 99 percent of us rely on your guidance. Thank you , have a great day.

In this news clip reaches out to people in Chicago that are feeling overwhelmed and anxious about Trump winning the election. The election had showed a negative effect on the group of students Dreamer who are living in fear for themselves and their family. The gov’t in Chicago offers a lot of resources and that Chicago will remain safe for everyone. They have 311 available for them whenever they feel like they have no options or want to talk to someone. The students from DACA talked to the congressman demanding that the they protect all immigrants not just those who have no criminal record. Undocumented students questioned whether it’s worth it to keep on studying but there are so students motivating to keep working hard.

Dear Trump, I'm not really sure why you feel your point of view is right. Everyone chooses different sides in a situation, but your side and what you support hurts so many people. You believe in sexism, racism, and so much more that is wrong with the world. And as horrible as humans can be, so many have made strives to get rid of all this but instead you want to destroy the little progress that has been made.

The organization I chose to support was "Everytown". They strive to educate people about the dangers of owning guns and advocate for stricter gun laws. Having driving to and from Florida this week, I saw many, MANY stores that sold guns, licenses, and even spent time with neighbors who couldn't stop telling me about the guns they owned. (I'm completely serious- apparently guns and gun laws are casual conversation) People believe that owning guns provide them with protection, but Everytown advocated to teach people about the rates of gun-related murders and crimes and to build safer communities. Because of my experience this week alone, Everytown is a wonderful activist group that I support 100%.

In this clip from Noticiero Telemundo the question, "Why Trump?" is further looked into but more specifically from a Hispanic audience. After countless remarks & bashing one would wonder why any Hispanic would vote for Trump. In the clip, it states that one of three Hispanics voted for Trump, many being Mexican. One agriculturer in Florida who voted for Trump explained in his defense that Trump would bring economic prosperity to the United States. More appealing towards his own business by limiting the free market and immigration to keep foreign competition out. In addition, when a Puerto Rican man was asked about Trump's campaign success he followed with something along the lines of "we need a strong man in office". Furthering the point that not his policies alone were what swayed people but sexism and misogyny as a leg up against Clinton.
